Day 1: Arrival

Upon Arrival, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your Hotel in Entebbe for the night. Check in and dinner. Meal Plan (B & B)


 

Day 2: Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (465 km 8hrs)

After an early breakfast at your hotel, you transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The best route entails following a surfaced Kabale road for 60 kms Past Mbarara to Ntungamo then turning right into surfaced road, 45km to rukungiri. Here you can take the most direct road which runs for 85kms through Kambuga and Kanungu, though you can also use Kambuga Kihihi. Arrival and check in at your Lodge. Day 3: Gorilla Tracking Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Early rise at the lodge and have breakfast, and prepare for the highlight of your safari, Gorilla tracking experience, where you will spend 1 hour with the Gorillas.

You will transfer to the park offices where you will be allocated a Gorilla family in groups of 8 and a Gorilla tracking guide. Your guide will brief you about you assigned Gorilla family and appropriate safety precautions and then you will drive to the trail head for the start of a thrilling adventure.

Expect to walk to walk between 2 and 8 hours in steep and sometimes muddy conditions with rain overhead which ca be tricky and may require an average degree of fitness. However, the thrill of coming face to face with the Giant Silverback ultimately makes up for the effort invested.

Please remember to bring your passport for registration. Appropriate, waterproof hiking boots and a light rain coat. To protect from stinging nettles, we recommend long pants and long-sleeved tops. A pair of old gardening gloves can help grab on to the vegetation, while most hotels/lodges provide a walking stick that comes in very handy, especially when hiking downhill. A small waterproof back pack is an excellent idea to carry a light snack, bottled water as well as protection for your camera.

Upon sighting the Gorillas, you will spend 1 hour with them as they go about their daily life; feeding, moving, playing, raising their young ones and sometimes wrestling by the juveniles. It is a very unique and unforgettable experience.

After this experience, you will hike back to the base, where your driver will be waiting to transfer you to the lodge for a deserved shower and dinner at your lodge. Meal Plan FB

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Chimp tracking (125km 4-5 hrs.)

On this day, after an early breakfast, you check out of your lodge and set off for Queen Elizabeth National Park through Kihihi and the Ishasha Sector. As you drive through the Ishasha sector, your guide will help you track the famous tree climbing lions. There are over 40 individuals split across three prides. The plains in this sector also support large herds of buffalo, kob and smaller family groups of Topi and water bucks. You will be able to see elephants, warthog and various monkeys.

Continue to Katunguru Park headquarters to secure your permits. You will the proceed to the chimp tracking trail head, 2.5 km east of Ishaka road. You will be allocated a guide that will take you through pre-tracking briefing and then you will continue to have your chimp tracking experience at Kyambura.After the chimpanzee tracking experience, you check in at the Lodge, Options include Elephant Plains Lodge, Crater Safari Lodge, Kasenyi safari Camp, Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge. Somewhat removed from the rest of Queen Elizabeth National Park, Ishasha sector which runs south from Lake Edward flanked by Ishasha River to the west and Ntungwe River to the east, ranks among the most alluring game viewing areas anywhere in the country.

Day 5: AM Game Drive and PM Boat Cruise in QENP

After your breakfast, your guide will brief you on the day’s activities and then you will set off for the morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park through both Mweya peninsula and the Kasenyi Plains where you will be able to see animals like the lion, Herds of elephants, antelopes, the elusive leopard and many mammals, Bird and reptile animal species. After the game drives we head back to the Lodge for you lunch.

After lunch, you will take the scenic boat cruise on the 33km long and 2-3 Km wide Kazinga channel. On this 2hr boat ride, you will enjoy excellent wildlife viewing, you will be able to spot elephants, buffalos, water bucks, Hippos, water monitor Lizard, crocodiles and many other animal species. Later head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the Lodge, FB

Queen Elizabeth comprises of mostly open grassland and Savanah which makes game viewing in this park quite easy and exciting. On a two-hour afternoon boat launch on the Kazinga channel, you will be able to see elephants, buffalos, water buck, Uganda Cob, large hippo pods. While on this boat, keep an eye out for the monitor Lizard and the crocodiles.

Day 6: Transfer from QENP to Entebbe (340kms 6hrs)

On this day, after your breakfast at your lodge, you will check out of the hotel and set off on your Journey to Entebbe. Enroute, your guide will give occasional stop overs for photo opportunities. Arrival and check in at the hotel.
