7 Days Wildlife & Cultural Budget Safari

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Hotel

Meet and greet at Jomo Kenyatta Airport upon your arrival and after briefing, you are driven to your hotel for overnight. Overnight: Swiss Lenana Mount Hotel Meals: Bed & Breakfast

Day 2: Drive to Masai Mara

The tour representative meets you at the hotel at 0800hrs and after the safari briefing you are transferred to meet up with the other group members for a morning departure to Masai Mara. You will drive through the scenic Great Rift Valley where you can stop for scenery viewing and photography at the escarpment view point. Afterwards, proceed to Narok Town where you will have lunch before proceeding to Masai Mara. On arrival you will enter the park for a rewarding evening game drive. Masai Mara is a recommended all year destination for wildlife viewing. After the game drive, you are transferred to your camp for check in and rest. Day 3: Masai Mara

After breakfast, spend the day with uninterrupted game drives exploring the marvelous and extensive Mara Reserve looking for animals and taking photographs. The driver will drive you at a leisurely pace as you stop often to enable you watch animals, take pictures and enjoy bird watching. You will carry packed picnic lunch boxes so as to maximize your time in the park enjoying game drives. You will also see the large Nile crocodile at Mara River and also large pods of hippo at the hippo pool during your picnic lunch. If lucky, you may also witness a hunt close to the river or in the extensive plains. After the game drives, you will transfer back to accommodation for dinner and rest. Day 4: Drive from Masai Mara to The Cultural Experience at Tepesua Cultural Village

After early breakfast, you will check out of the camp for a final morning game drive in Masai Mara to see the park when most active. After the game drives, you will exit from Masai Mara and proceed to Tepesua Masai village where you will have lunch on arrival. After lunch, you will meet the team of Masai warriors who will take you on a guided walk of the village and around in the quiet deep bushes as they explain about their cultural practices. Afterwards you will engage in traditional activities such as learning how to dance like a real Masai Moran, Moran jumping, Traditional sticks fire making in the wild, The Dos and Don’ts of Moranhood and many more at Tepesua cultural eco camp. You will then visit the local women workshop where widows make traditional ornaments to feed their families and provide education for their children. The Masai warriors are available to answer any questions that you may have about their culture. Dinner is served at the camp around a bonfire under the starry African sky. Day 5: Cultural Activities and Transfer to Lake Naivasha

Breakfast at leisure then have a visit to the nearby local school which was set up by the founder to provide shelter to rescued little girls from early marriages. The school was founded in 2009 due to rampant Early Girl Child marriages in and around Loita Plains area. After the school visit guests depart to Lake Naivasha arriving for hot lunch at the lodge. After lunch, you will take a relaxing boat ride to visit the beautiful Crescent Island Sanctuary where you will enjoy guided nature walks in the park in the company of a local guide who will explain to you about the park’s history. Along the way you will see hippos wallowing in the lake taking a lazy yawn. After the visit you will take the boat back to the camp where you will spend the night. Day 6: Explore Hells Gate National Park

After breakfast you will depart from lodge with picnic lunch and proceed to Hells Gate National Park where you will spend the day on an excursion with options of a walking / hiking or cycling tours. Explore the park which has fantastic rock compositions and visit the gorges for a guided tour in the company of a local guide who will explain to you the history of the park. This is one of the few parks where walking safaris are allowed or cycling tours within the park. After exploring the park to your satisfaction, you will drive back to the lodge for rest and dinner. Day 7: Drive back to Nairobi / Visit David Sheldrick Elephant Museum & Giraffe Centre

After breakfast you will board the vehicle for a transfer back to Nairobi. On arrival you will proceed to the David Sheldrick Elephant Museum to visit baby elephants; learn about the history of the elephants and the conservation efforts in different national parks. This is also a good opportunity to adopt a baby elephant. Afterwards you will visit the Giraffe Sanctuary for a chance to interact with the endangered Rothschild giraffes and get a chance to feed them at close range. After the visit, you will have farewell lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant and thereafter have a transfer back to Jomo Kenyatta Airport arriving in good time to check in for your international flight to your next destination.
